A few of My Favorite Things

Something I have been working on lately is learning to count my blessings. And, you know, there are a lot more than I thought just a couple short weeks ago. A couple weeks ago I had too much on my plate (some of it was put on my plate by me, so I really can't lay blame anywhere for that one. I mean,  I CAN say 'no' sometimes. I just really dislike doing it. So, I overload myself instead. You know? Please tell me I am not the only one...). It cause a giant emotional crash and ended up hurting me and those around me emotionally. And, I don't want to go back to that place. So, I am working to focus on the good, correcting my thought processes, communicating better, healing my core (part of my problem is not feeling strong enough to even do basic, everyday things.), and washing myself daily in God's word.

1. My very first favorite thing is spending time with my husband. He is my best friend. I really miss him a lot when he isn't home. After all, I married him because I wanted to be around him. A LOT! :)

2. My kids. Isaiah tries his hardest to help most times. He gets tired of waiting sometimes, and he needs parenting for sure. But he's the one always looking for ways to help his MaMa. It's super precious, and melts my heart. David is quick to give a hug or a snuggle, he definitely gets kind of ignored sometimes. He's giggly, funny, and just loves to have fun. Jonathan is by far my most motivated kid. He's one of the twins and, at 11 months old, he is standing, trying to walk, demands his bottle NOW or food NOW (he really loves those things. LOL), he loves to cuddle and loves to be just near his MaMa. Joseph (the other twin) is the littlest and the sweetest tempered of them all. He fights sleep like a champ, so he definitely has the ability not to give up on things. But he just loves to be close to his MaMa and his brothers. ALL of them. He is so proud that he is standing on his own now, but the way he expresses it is just so sweet.

Goodness, #2 should have been like four things!

3. The amazing women in my life. God has richly blessed me with women who love me, help me, encourage me, listen to me, challenge me, and just speak life into me. I'm beyond thankful for such sweet friends! They have carried me through some pretty rough times. Each in their own way has blessed my heart more than they will ever know.

4. God. He probably should have been number one on this list, but, it just suddenly occurred to me that HE has given me all of these amazing GIFTS! And, I am grateful for them all. I am thankful that God sees my tears, my smiles, my joys, my sorrows, my hurt, my anger, my ugly moments, and He still loves me. I could spend eternity trying to please Him. And I will. But not because it will earn His love or cause Him to look at me any differently. He sees my brokenness. And, He loves me right where I am, just as I am. I don't need to take a bath before I come to Him (believe me, you want me to before you see me. Sometimes this Mom life means it's been a day or 6). I don't need to be anyone but me. He already KNOWS. So there's nothing to hide.

5. Essential Oils. These little gifts from God's creation have been life changers for me! The only thing worse than feeling too physically and emotionally weak to care for my kids, is feeling those AND having no hope and being constantly sick too. YUCK! Since finding those and learning how chemicals tear apart your immune system, well, I pretty much just can't live without them. If you wanna know the basics you can join my group here.

I'm going to keep adding to this list. So stay tuned for the next "Favorite Things" list! What are some of your favorite things?
